Yoris Sebastian Nisiho, general manager of the Hard Rock Cafe in Jakarta, was elected to represent Indonesia at the International Young Music Enterpreneur of the Year Award in Britain, a spokesman said.
Juries comprising Yudhi Soerjoatmodjo, Daniel Tumiwa and Lia Santoso decided to name Yoris as the winner of selection process, defeating Setya Hanindito Sidharta of Aksara Records.
“We summoned two finalists last night and we eventually decided to elect Yoris as the winner,” Yudhi said on the sidelines of the winner announcement here Thursday.
Other candidates in the selection were e Robin CH. F. Malau of Soda Music (Bandung), Ferri Yuniardo (Jakarta) Junior Eka Putro (HAI megazine, Jakarta), Wendy Rostandy (PT. Prima Lintas Utama, Jakarta), Alfiansyah (PT Alfa Kreasitama, Jakarta), Petrus Briyanto Adi (Cupu Records, Jakarta, RM Dimas Widiarto Sapto Wibowo (Vociferous Exuberance, Yogyakarta) and Yonathan Nugroho (PT Dian Pramudita, Jakarta).
Yoris will be sent to join the IYMEY in London where he will share experiences with other winners from Argentinia, Estonia, India, Kenya, Lebanon, Marocco, Nigeria, Poland and Venezuela next July.
He will also meet key figures in the British music industry, attend seminars, witness music events and learn ways how to run music business in the country. (*)
