Just a quick update.
I think there are too many unresolved/compatibility problems on the fastest and the coolest browser around, Firefox 3. In my machine, this browser crashes like fat man eats cake, sometimes 3-4 times a day sometimes more. In the last couple of days, it crashes whenever i open Gmail. It’s so retarded, how come i can’t using Gmail? When i do search on the web, all i can find are different Gmail – Firefox 3 unresolved problems.
Then this thought cross through my mind, if regular unsavvy internet user want to use Firefox 3, how come they should browse around tech forums just to make their ‘cool’ browser works with Gmail? I think most people don’t need that.
I quit using it and switch back to Firefox 2, i hope they could fix this compatibility problems if not then the world record downloads are just numbers of abandoned software download, never converted into users.
Hey. What extensions do you use? Repeated crashes often come from unstable add-ons installed into Firefox. You could also try starting with a clean profile and one by one adding the extensions you want. Crashing 4 times a day is not normal…
Fred,
I consider myself a Firefox evangelist while FF3 crashes everytime i open Google websites, which is also important for many people. What should i say?
But thanks for stopping by, i really appreciate it. I should try your suggestions and keep this blog updated on that issue. You’ll be pinged if you don’t mind.
Well there aren’t any issues now in 2009, so time to delete this site. Amazing you’ll call yourself an Evangelist, and post stuff like this when you run into a few problems!!!! Why not use Firefox 2 and 3 and some other browsers side by side?
Sorry you don’t like the post.
However, they were ‘few’ but unresolved problems.
If you say nice things to people about Firefox, then they believe you, then dump the stupid Internet Explorer and install Firefox 3 only to find errors and crashes, what should you say then?
And being an evangelist doesn’t mean you only say nice things.
Nice post. I learn something new and challenging on blogs I stumbleupon everyday.
It’s always useful to read articles from other authors and use a little something from their web sites.
