A Night to Remember

I rarely went to my daughter’s school events, except once when she sang in a choir back in 6th grade. I didn’t mean for it to be that way, and I’m not entirely sure why it happened. Time has flown by, and now she’s already a senior in high school.

As I shift my focus to helping her stay on track for the best education she can get, one thing I realize I need to do is spend more time with her and really be part of her world. So, last weekend, I decided to attend one of her school events—the last home game for her school’s football team. I know it won’t make up for the past, but it felt like the right moment. And it was.

I stopped by and took a few photos.

She was having the time of her life, a true Californian girl enjoying every moment. And so did I. Watching your daughter having a great time is one of the best feelings for a dad. It was a short visit, but a night I’ll always remember, as I felt a little closer to her—a blessing in itself.
