Here’s what I posted on BlueSky a few weeks ago about my aim in 2025:
I’ll repost this here, my aim for 2025:
– Stay alive.
– Take a LOT of photos.
– Restart my music industry podcast.
– Write more blog posts.
– Post guitar videos again.— Robin Malau 🏴☠️ (@robinmalau.com) January 8, 2025 at 11:02 PM
For those who know me from my time in a band in the ’90s, you know I’m a creative person. I’ve always found ways to express myself, whether through music, writing, photography, or making videos. So the list is simple and basic, the things I usually do anyway, just not consistently. I’ve given up on not doing creative projects. From dealing with chronic illness and being unemployed to finding work again, I’ve realized that creative projects are what keep my peace and sanity intact.
However, I need to rethink the mediums I use. I have multiple social media accounts and several websites. Managing too many platforms isn’t sustainable; I want to focus on creating, not maintaining. I’m less concerned about engagement or followers—it’s nice, but the primary goal is to stay sane and creative.
The plan:
- Photography: I’ll continue posting on Instagram and create a dedicated page for photography here.
- Music Industry Podcast: I’ll keep using a separate website at musikator.com and host videos on YouTube and Spotify, with audio on Apple Podcasts. I’ll also build a dedicated page here.
- Blog Writing: I won’t add more blogs; this one will remain my focus. I’ll also include music-related content—such as online guitar performances—and web design.
The first big project is to create a central hub for all my activities: this website, robinmalau.com. It’s going to be a major redesign, not just visually but in how I organize and present information. I’ll also need to recategorize posts dating back to 2006 to make them accessible for visitors.
I’ll start as soon as I have a concrete plan, but for now, I’m putting this idea out there as a reminder that this is a personal project I need to tackle. Until then.
